FIAMA offers a wide selection of Draw Wire Encoders. The encoder system consists of a spring wound wire spool and a rotary encoder. When the wire is extended or retracted, the spool turns an encoder, offering a meaningful length measurement output. The application benefit of a draw wire encoder is that there is no need for a guided mechanism to maintain encoder alignment, it simply offers a measurement output between two points. Common applications include forklifts, cranes, booms, drilling equipment, hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder strokes, etc.
